GRADE II LISTED FARMHOUSE, NORTH OXFORDSHIRE
This involved the conversion of existing dairy annexed to a Grade II listed farmhouse into home office space, dining area, mezzanine level and ancillary accommodation. Work included reconstruction of the solid stone floor to incorporate new underfloor heating using a geothermal heat source by laying a series of pipes within the paddock
(see indicative plan) and the installation of associated mechanical plant. Work also included damp proofing and renewal of all finishes using largely a traditional lime technology to preserve the natural behaviour of the historic building fabric.
Work was completed during Spring 2009 and the final result is a transformation of the internal spaces and the improvement of the performance & lifespan of the building.
"We are thrilled with how the project was interpreted and the resulting rooms are just as we had hoped. The essence of the building has been retained and enhanced and although we were restricted by the original footprint of the building, we have gained wonderful living space through clever design work. We found working with Tom a thoroughly enjoyable experience.'' Annabel Bellamy
